We are now approved to accept SNAP!

Our farmers market vendors will now have the ability to accept Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and to help get more farm-direct produce into the hands of our low income neighbors. Formerly known as the Food Stamp Program, SNAP benefits are distributed through the Hoosier Works Card, which is used like a debit card. 38th & Meridian St Farmers Market processes SNAP transactions, debiting the Hoosier Works Card in exchange for $1 tokens that shoppers can use at vendor stalls.

Access to affordable, fresh, and healthy whole foods is a challenge for many people who rely on food assistance programs like SNAP. Our market helps low-income families and individuals buy fresh, Indiana-grown food that provides real sustenance for themselves and their communities.

The market will also continue to partner with WIC to hand out vouchers to individuals who qualify. WIC (Women, Infants and Children) is a supplemental food and nutrition program funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
